AI assistants
Connect an AI assistant
KiwiRank works inside Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code through MCP, the standard way assistants connect to apps. Add one URL, sign in with KiwiRank, and ask for what you need in your own words.
How it works
Add KiwiRank to your assistant
Every assistant asks for the same connector URL:
https://mcp.kiwirank.com/ mcp Sign in with KiwiRank
Your assistant opens a KiwiRank page. Check the assistant’s name and address, choose the websites to share and the access level (read-only or full), then Allow.
Ask
“Show my latest articles” or “Add ‘best CRM for agencies’ to my plan”. The assistant picks the right KiwiRank tool.
Claude
In Claude, open Customize › Connectors, then select + Add › Add custom connector.
Name it KiwiRank, paste the connector URL and select Continue. Set OAuth client to Register automatically: Claude registers itself with KiwiRank, so there is no client ID to enter. Under Authentication choose Sign in now, then Add.
https://mcp.kiwirank.com/ mcp Sign in with KiwiRank and choose the websites to share. In a chat, turn KiwiRank on under + › Connectors.
Team and Enterprise
On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds the connector first under Organization settings › Connectors › Add › Custom › Web. Everyone else then finds it under Customize › Connectors and selects Connect.Claude’s own guide: Help Center
ChatGPT
Open Plugins (chatgpt.com/plugins), select +, then Add custom MCP server.
Name it KiwiRank, paste the connector URL under Connection and choose OAuth. Confirm the warning and select Create as a plugin.
https://mcp.kiwirank.com/ mcp Install the plugin and sign in with KiwiRank. In a new chat, type @ and pick KiwiRank.

Cursor
Select Add to Cursor below, or add KiwiRank to ~/.cursor/mcp.json (all projects) or .cursor/mcp.json (one project).
{ "mcpServers": { "kiwirank": { "url": "https://mcp.kiwirank.com/mcp" } } }Cursor opens KiwiRank in your browser the first time it connects. Sign in and choose your websites.
Ask the agent in chat. It uses KiwiRank’s tools when your question needs them.

Claude Code
Add the server. Put --scope user after kiwirank to use it in every project.
claude mcp add --transport http kiwirank https://mcp.kiwirank.com/mcpIn Claude Code, run /mcp, pick kiwirank and sign in with KiwiRank in your browser.
/mcp Ask for what you need. Claude Code uses KiwiRank’s tools when your request needs them.

Access and safety
Publishing starts with a preview
Before anything goes to your site, KiwiRank answers the assistant with a preview of what will be sent and where, and tells it to ask you first. To check each send yourself, keep your assistant’s per-tool approval on.
Never posts to Reddit
KiwiRank finds the Reddit threads your buyers read and writes your replies. You read each one and post it yourself, from your own account.
Read-only if you like
When you sign in, choose read-only access and the assistant can look but never change your articles, keywords, questions or settings. It can also have KiwiRank suggest questions to track. Suggestions use your plan’s AI visibility allowance.
Every change is logged
Each change an assistant makes is listed in Settings › API & MCP › Activity, with the assistant’s name.
Your plan’s limits apply
An assistant can do what you can do in KiwiRank, within the same plan limits. It never sees billing or your site’s passwords.
Disconnect any time
Settings › API & MCP lists every assistant connected to the website (its owner also sees the ones editors connected). Disconnect one and it loses access at once.
Tools
Your assistant sees these tools. With read-only access it sees only the read tools. A tool that asks first answers with a preview of what it will do, and your assistant is told to ask you before it confirms. Text that comes from other people or other sites is marked as such in each answer, and the assistant is told it is not an instruction.

Like the app, the AI visibility figures leave out questions that name your brand or your domain, because AI answers to those are about you. To count them, ask your assistant to include them: get_ai_visibility and get_ai_visibility_citations take an optional branded argument, exclude (the default) or include.
Connect with an API key
For a tool that cannot sign in with OAuth, send a KiwiRank API key as a bearer token to the same URL. The key’s access level applies, and its name shows in the activity list.
{
"mcpServers": {
"kiwirank": {
"url": "https://mcp.kiwirank.com/mcp",
"headers": {
"Authorization": "Bearer kr_live_…"
}
}
}
}Troubleshooting
- Sign-in opens but the assistant says it could not connect
- Check the URL ends in /mcp, with no trailing slash or spaces. In Claude, edit the connector and set OAuth client to Register automatically, then sign in again.
- No websites to choose when I sign in
- You can share websites where you are an owner or editor and that have an active plan. Check Settings › Billing for the website.
- The assistant can read but not change anything
- You chose read-only access. Disconnect the assistant in Settings › API & MCP and connect it again with full access.
- It worked yesterday and now asks me to sign in
- A connection lasts 30 days from when you connected it, and a disconnected assistant must sign in again. Sign in once more; nothing else changes.
- ChatGPT does not offer “Add custom MCP server”
- Custom MCP servers need a Business, Enterprise or Edu workspace (on Business, an admin or owner adds them), or Pro for read tools only.
- Claude says only an owner can add connectors
- On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds KiwiRank once in Organization settings › Connectors. Members then select Connect.
- Cursor does not open the sign-in page
- Open Cursor’s MCP settings, find KiwiRank and select it to sign in, or check that ~/.cursor/mcp.json is valid JSON.
Still stuck? Write to support@kiwirank.com with the assistant’s name and what it said.
